Penalty Killing
When you are short-handed you must never stop skating.
Maintain pressure on the opposition whilst staying on your goal-side of them.
Do not allow your opponents too much room to build up speed. Make sure that no-one can skate behind you into a scoring area.
Cover the slot. Do not chase the opponent behind your own goal - HE CAN NOT SCORE FROM THERE
Remember, you can ice the puck as often as you like without being penalised whilst you are short-handed. Take advantage of this, especially if you have strong, fast skaters on your line, as they may well be able to score from that situation.
Power Play
On the delayed penalty the Centre from the next line replaces the netminder.
Move the puck quickly into the offensive zone and hold it there until all of your teammates have arrived.
This means HARD SKATING BY EVERYBODY.
If the opponents manage to get the puck commit two men to the puck carrier, one to put pressure on him and the other one to steal the puck.
Do not give them any time to think, skate or shoot.
Those who dream of success will watch those who work for it succeed
Remember! When you are not practising, someone, somewhere is!!
The only limits that exist are those you set yourself
Exist only for that moment. That moment is always NOW
