Players Responsibilities
Wingers
A wingers primary responsibility is to attack the opponents defensive zone and carry the puck deep into the zone, thereby stretching the defence and hopefully causing errors, leaving his Centre to have a scoring opportunity.
A winger should try to stay as wide as possible, carrying the puck as near to the boards as possible.
If the play has broken down and the opponents have possession of the puck he should back-check as quickly as possible to assist his defence. Once the opponents are in our defensive zone it is the winger's responsibility to mark the opponent's defenceman at our blue line and try to stop him getting possession of the puck or to be able to help his side in any way.
Centre
The Centre is responsible for creating plays, scoring opportunities for himself and his team mates as well as causing as many problems for the opponents Netminder and defencemen as possible.
Whilst his primary playing area is the centre lane on the ice he should be able to play on both the wings also, always communicating with his teammates.
In our defensive end the Centre's responsibility is to keep the 'Slot' free from opposing players
